Projects
Our club is involved in a variety of projects that involve fundraising, community service, and assisting children locally and worldwide.  Below are the projects in which we are currently involved:

Bulletin Publishes weekly a club newsletter with notes from the weekly morning club meeting, as well as a Calendar of Events (including upcoming Projects, Events, and Programs) and noteworthy news. Mission: Promote the goings-on of the club by 1) Sending the newsletter out weekly by email, 2) distribute it at weekly meetings, and 3) provide to the Web Associate to make sure it is updated and archived on the website.
Burbank Builders Club
Burbank Food Pantry Help our Luther-Burbank Builders club bag and distribute produce to those in need.

Fundraising Oversee Fundraising projects to support various Community, Youth, Scholarship and Leadership programs. This includes the major fundraiser K-Bell Classic Track meet, and others such as Xmas in the Park, Xmas Tree Lot, SVSE (Silicon Valley Sports & Entertainment like the Grand Prix, San Jose Sharks) Projects, Ink Cartridges, Border Book Sales, Entertainment Book Sales, Polish Auction and Turnaround Scholarship Ticket Sales. House Set-up and take down Club weekly meeting room (badge box, banners, projector screen, WSJ Club sign for outside), greet guests, present house report at weekly meetings, take attendance and turn in attendance sheet to Secretary (Bill Scoble), and take down all banners. Make sure Badge Box is neat and orderly; keep stocked with Membership Applications, Guest Badges, Pens, Attendance Sheets and New Member Checklist. Coordinate Interclub meetings with all of the other clubs in our Division (this should be done roughly at a rate of two per month). Ensure our club has at least four members at each Interclub. Other Interclubs to be scheduled are the Governors Visit (Fall/Winter), Midwinter Conference (February), International Convention (June), District Convention (August), Lt. Governors Installation (Sept.), and Sponsored Youth (Key Club and/or Builders Club). Mission: Achieve Round Robin (interclub with eve
K-Bell Plan, organize and manage the Club’s annual K-Bell Track meet, the clubs major fundraiser. Scheduled for March 14, 2009. Mission: Have a great K-Bell; great athletes, great Kiwanis participation, great advertising (put forms on the WSJ website in October), finish before 900pm! Begin Corporate Sponsors activities in October; regular advertisers in December.

Identify and coordinate support for fellow Kiwanians who are in need of support or assistance. Mission: Untiring support for our Kiwanians.

Major focus is to hold Special Guest Day in January. Secondary focus is to develop and implement an ongoing plan for fun to retain and recruit new members to meet the Club’s growth goals of 100 members by the year 2015. Coordinate interesting and exciting speakers of interest to the membership to support the broad diversity of WSJ Club members. Consider having a Spiritual Program in conjunction with Spiritual Aims 12/24/08; Roundtable meeting 12/31/08 (new years eve); Polish Auction 1/7/09. Mission: Provide a balanced mix of interesting and entertaining programs (e.g. community service, local events, political, science, sports, technology) . Public Relations / Marketing Develop a campaign to ensure that the community gets to know Kiwanis through media, brochures, and "letters to the Editor" in local papers. Mission: Spread the word about our Service! Provide regular articles to local newspapers of club projects; improve club marketing materials for handouts at projects. Promote key events as needed by other committees.
Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley Spring and Fall Saturday work days. focused on seniors and handicapped to allow them to stay safely in their homes as they age. We perform needed maintenance and upkeep type work at assigned residences.

Service Members This is the group of Kiwanians that cannot make the weekly meetings, however, wish to SERVE!
Social Edgerton, Jan
Plan, coordinate and implement FUN times for the Club’s main social events which usually includes some mix of the following: Christmas Season Holiday Party, Santa Clara "Central Park" Melodrama and Chinese Food dinner, Mystery Trip, Family BBQ and President's Pre-Installation Reception. Mission: Give primacy to the club's social side of life.
